Knitted Kite Shawl with Fiona Morris

Join us at this day long workshop to knit this beautiful shawl designed by Fiona Morris.

She says:-

Over the last few years shawl have become a very popular accessory to make. A number of different styles of shawl have also developed not just the traditional triangular or square shaped shawl.

The kite style shawl is a variation of triangular shawls but it’s constructed differently. It starts at one point and while increasing at the edges it also decreases at the centre to produce a central ‘spine’ feature.

We will cover:-

• Starting the shawl
• Increasing at the edges every row
• Working a Centre Double Decrease
• Working a simple eyelet pattern with the increases and decreases
• Casting off with a picot cast off or a Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy cast off

The cost of the day workshop is £55.00 and includes two contrasting balls of four ply yarn (not the same as pictured), tuition and refreshments.

Please bring a 3.75mm circular needle with you.

There will be a lunch break where you can bring your own or pop out and grab something at any of the nearby cafes/ shops.
