Creating a Knitted Garment with Fiona Morris

Ever wanted to create a knitted garment that truely fits? Then this is the workshop for you!

Join us at this day long workshop.

At this session with Fiona Morris, you will cover:-

• Reading a pattern and understanding the information provided in it
• Understanding information about which yarn is best for the project you have chosen
• Understanding how to size the pattern to fit you
• Look at how the pattern is broken down into sections for the different parts of a garment and understanding different abbreviations and shaping instructions. 
• Understand how to obtain the correct tension gauge to complete the pattern correctly
• Understand how to cast on, work a rib, change from rib to stocking stitch, work mirrored decreases, a make 1 increase, work a shoulder cast off in steps.

During the class you will knit a sampler taking you through the various steps involved in making a garment and covering the points above.

You will need:

• Yarn to knit the sample, DK, Aran or chunky weight
• Needles suitable for the yarn you are using; 4mm for DK, 5mm for Aran or 6mm for Chunky
• Notebook and pen can be useful.

These can all be purchased on the day or chose the "Full Package' ticket option.

The cost of the day workshop is £45.00 for the class only which includes tuition and refreshments or £55.00 for the full package which includes yarn, needles, tuition and refreshments.

There will be a lunch break where you can bring your own or pop out and grab something at any of the nearby cafes/ shops.
